Housatonic WATER ACTION

we deserve clean water

Housatonic is in a water crisis that continues to get worse. An aging infrastructure, untrusted private utility owner, and a water source plagued with manganese result in brown water for many residents every summer.

How we can help each other

Housatonic Water Action was created as a grassroots project to document our issues in a central spot. We are growing:

  • We have handed out over 400 gallons of water to residents.

  • We are asking people to share their issues, raise complaints, and call people in power to alert them of our crisis.

  • We are actively working to to get every resident your $600 rebate and exhaust the $250,000 emergency grant from the state to assist with the crisis.

  • We are gathering information about testing, manganese, and filtration options, available

  • We are documenting coverage of our crisis from local and national news outlets, gathering information about manganese
